Parikrama; Connaught Place.

A revolving restaurant right in the middle of Connaught Place! You couldn’t have asked for a much better setting. Standing at a height of 240 feet atop the Antriksh Bhavan on KG Road, the restaurant provides a splendid view of Delhi.

In the afternoon, you can see the busy by-lanes of the area crawling with people and traffic. One could easily spot the domes and minarets of Jama Masjid located in Delhi – 6, the massive Rashtrapati Bhawan and the Red Fort. But at night, the shimmering lights of the vehicles and those of the buildings are visible till far.

Although the restaurant provides a combination of North Indian, Continental and Chinese, its Daal-Roti cuisine is the better than the rest. Start with the Murg Tikka Parikrama, which is every word as tender and exotic as they claim. The Murg Seekh Kebab also begs a try. The average non-vegetarian will even enjoy the vegetarian Sabz Seekh Banarsi. You can also sample the Shredded Lamb with Green Pepper and the Paneer Tikka. They won’t let you down.

For the main course, order the Murg Lababdar and Dhaba Murg with Baigan ka Bharta and Dal Makhani. Both the chicken preparations are brilliant and the Dhaba Murg will dominate your appetite as it is a tad bit spicier and, therefore, yummy. Baigan ka Bharta cooked directly over the flame and with khadey masale gives it the great smoky flavour.

By the time you are done with main course, you complete one parikrama and come back to your original spot – in about 90 minutes. Go for the Fruit Split – fruits with scoops of ice-cream laden with chocolate sauce and nuts, or Litchees with Ice-Cream to give your experience there a sweet ending.

Every Delhite and every traveller should must visit the place once. Delhi darshan while having great food is a delightful experience, not to be missed by anyone.
